How we handle your data

CATOIL B.V., Wijsgeerbaan 66, 1315 LJ Almere, the Netherlands, is responsible for the personal data you share with us. This notice explains what we collect, why, and what your rights are under the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR / AVG).

What we collect

• Your name, company, email address and phone number — from the enquiry form.
• The content of your enquiry — product, volume, destination, delivery window.
• Basic technical data — pages visited and device type, from standard server logs.

Enquiry forms prepare your details in your browser and open a pre-filled message in WhatsApp. Nothing is sent to CATOIL BV until you press Send inside WhatsApp. WhatsApp is operated by Meta and processes the message under its own terms; CATOIL BV receives the message only after you send it and does not control WhatsApp's processing.

We do not run accounts, newsletters with tracking pixels, or advertising profiles on this site.

Why we keep it

We use your details for one purpose: to prepare and follow up on your enquiry — a written offer, inspection paperwork, and delivery coordination. The legal basis is pre-contractual necessity (GDPR Art. 6(1)(b)). We never sell or rent your details to third parties. Counterparty checks (KYC) and independent inspections may involve sharing company details with banks, inspectors, and carriers — only what the deal requires, and only where the law or the contract provides for it (GDPR Art. 6(1)(c) and 6(1)(b)).

How long we keep it

Enquiry correspondence is kept for up to two years so repeat business does not start from zero. Deal documentation follows the statutory retention period of seven years for business records. After that, it is deleted.

Your rights

You can ask us at any time to see, correct, limit, or delete your personal data, to receive a copy of it in a portable format, or to object to its use. Contact us via the Contact page, or write to CATOIL B.V., Wijsgeerbaan 66, 1315 LJ Almere, the Netherlands, marked “Data protection request”. A trader — not a ticket queue — will handle it within one month. If you disagree with our answer, you can complain to the Dutch Data Protection Authority (Autoriteit Persoonsgegevens).
